When and how do I pay?
Deposit is £150.00 per week of hire (non-refundable) and all balances are due 28 days prior to hire. We accept all major credit cards, cheques, and direct bank transfers
Is there a charge for using our credit card?
No, we do not charge commission for credit cards.
How much is the security deposit and what is it used for?
All drivers drive on a £600 excess and this is used in the event of any damage or an accident to the vehicle while in your charge resulting in a claim. The £600 is due on the day of hire and is secured against your card, if paying by cheque please ensure we receive this well in advance of your hire to allow the cheque to clear.
Do I need electric hook up?
All our vehicles have on board leisure batteries which will power your lights and gas that will provide you with heating and fridge operation. However leisure batteries will not power the 240v sockets or Television so we advise getting hook up when possible. Also when on hook up this will charge your leisure battery. We strongly recommend getting hook up at least every few days.
Do I have to stay on campsites?
No you do not have to stay on campsites, but we do recommend using one every few days to re-charge your battery.
Is it difficult to drive a motorhome?
Not at all! Motorhomes now have a very car like driver feel to them and as long as you remember your height and take care when reversing you should have no problem at all.
Do you have secure parking?
Yes we do, we offer all our customers secure car parking for the duration of your hire
What are the collection and drop off times?
Collection times are approx 4.00pm and drop off times are by 10.00am in the morning to allow us time to prepare the vehicles for the next customer. We are flexible though and will try and help you with any preferred times where possible.
Can I take your vehicles to Europe?
Yes absolutely! All our vehicles are fully prepared for the continent all you will need is our compulsory insurance cover which is £65 per week. You will be supplied with spare bulbs, reflector vests, warning triangle and European cover which are a legal requirement in most EU countries.
Can I buy Calor gas in Europe?
No, Calor gas is only obtainable in the UK so we recommend you take a spare for longer periods of hire
Do I need snow chains in the winter?
Not in the UK no, however it is law to have them on board your vehicle when travelling through mountain regions in the south of France, Switzerland and Northern Italy. We can supply these on your request.
Are the motorhomes warm during winter?
All or motorhomes have double glazing, wall and floor insulation and on board heating so keeping warm should not be a problem, however we do recommend taking electric fan heaters to very cold climate countries and choosing campsites with electric hook up and leaving these on under thermostat control.
What identification do I need to bring?
On collection of your vehicle we will need your driving license (including paper section) and two forms of identification showing your current address.
Are motorhomes economical?
If driven at a steady pace you can expect to do approx 25-30 mpg but obviously this depends on driving conditions and amount of weight including passengers in the vehicle.
How old are the motorhomes?
All our motorhomes are no older than 18 months old and are regularly serviced and well maintained to a high standard.
What is the procedure for booking?
The procedure is very simple for booking, after checking we have a vehicle available please fill in our online booking form and submit this to us, we will then send you a booking confirmation and a request for the deposit to secure your vehicle. The balance is due 28 days prior to hire but don’t worry we will contact you every step of the way.
What are your periods of hire?
Our periods of hire are 1 week minimum hire during the summer months (June, July and August) and 3 nights for the rest of the year, however sometimes we have slots available during the summer months so it is always worth a call to us.
Can I drive on an international license?
Yes you can drive on an International license.
I am from overseas can I drive on my license?
Yes we can accept most worldwide licenses.
What are the ages for hiring a motorhome?
We can hire a vehicle to you if you are over 24 and under 71.
I have endorsements on my license, can I still hire?
Yes we can still hire to you for minor offences such as SP30’S etc, though it is worth checking with us first as sometimes extra charges can apply.
Can I drive on a normal license or do I need HGV license?
All our vehicles are below 3500kg and you can drive these on a normal car license.
Can you deliver my motorhome to my door?
We do offer a door to door service for our customers. You would need to check with us to see if this available on your chosen day of hire as we need to ensure we have staff available. Charges apply.
Do I get a demonstration of the vehicle?
You most certainly do, we spend as long as it takes with you until you are happy with your vehicle and confident in driving it away. An average handover lasts between half an hour, to one hour but we have no set time.
What comforts can I expect with my motorhome?
All our vehicles are the latest motorhomes and are a home away from home with all your creature comforts. All have fridge, freezer, oven, hob, television, DVD player, separate bathroom with shower and toilet and are all fitted to a high standard.
We are travelling from overseas, do you supply bedding?
Yes, we supply all our overseas customers with all bed linen and towels for their trip.
Do you offer discounts for longer periods of hire?
Yes we do, if your trip is over two weeks please contact us and we will work a discount out for you.
